Welcome to Jennifer Elise - Remedial Massage! Jennifer is highly experienced therapist with 18 years experience in Remedial Massage right in the heart of Erskineville village, Inner West/South Sydney. We provide restorative massage tailored to your needs, incorporating a wide range of massage techniques. Jennifer is one of the few remedial therapists in the area to offer Hot Stone Remedial in conjuction with Remedial/Sports, Trigger Point Massage, Pre-Natal/Pregnancy Massage and Well Being Massage.

Massage can assist with calming the nervous system and helps to reduce tension and pain within the body by addressing trigger points found within tight muscle tissue. Hot stones are integrated into most treatments; the warmth of the smooth stones often encourages tight fascia to unwind which clients find very relaxing and soothing.

Massage can provide relief and be helpful for: Headaches and Migraines Back neck and shoulder tightness Lower back pain Sciatica Overuse injuries Eg wrist arm and shoulder tightness and fatigue from computer work Shoulder Injuries such as 'frozen shoulder' Muscular sprains Aches and pains associated with pregnancy.

Hot Stone Remedial

The origins of Hot Stone Massage come from Lomi Lomi massage in Hawaii using basalt volcanic stones.

Often clients find Remedial Hot Stone massage to be a soothing and therapeutic experience. By using smooth warm stones as massage tools tight muscle tissue can respond positively, and the heat may even help with easing tight fascia (connective tissue throughout the body).

It is interesting to note the neural pathway of pain is shared with temperature, one possible reason why pain is “distracted” when warm stones are applied, which allows a deeper pressure with less tenderness within acute tissue.

Besides this, hot stone massage just feels very nice!

*This neural pathway can be noted during Caesaerian section, whereby pain levels are tested by running an ice cube up the flank of the body to the armpit to see if the patient needs additional anaesthesia.

A little about Jennifer

A Life of Health

Jennifer holistic journey into massage and keen interest in health and well being began in her early years when her family gave each other regular massages. With a background in elite gymnastics (2 time South Australian State Champion) professional dance and music theatre Jenny noticed the power of healing in receiving regular massage so naturally flowed into her new career by completing a Diploma in Remedial Massage in 2007. Jennifer has also completed several naturopathic courses and studied Aerobics Instruction. Jennifer understands the importance of clients maintaining a healthy and happy body with regular massage.
